Overview

This solo dark ambient music project was a personal project of mine from roughly 2014 to 2017. Dark ambient music is defined as “a genre of post-industrial music that features an ominous, dark droning and often gloomy, monumental or catacombal atmosphere, partially with discordant overtones.” It was a learning experience in both audio engineering, music production, not just graphic design. The logo is a slightly edited version of the typeface Tfu, and the Inheritance album cover is a composite of my own photography in the supposedly haunted Ohio State Reformatory, as well as stock imagery of an infant. Out of the 4 releases under the Zhaghzhagh name, Inheritance was the strongest in concept, musical execution, and graphic design. (Fun Fact: “Zhaghzhagh” is a Persian word with no English counterpart. It means the uncontrollable chattering of teeth, due to rage or cold.)
